Principle of cluster jet
The principle of the cluster jet oxygen lance is to add a burner around the Laval nozzle, so that the oxygen jet of the Laval nozzle is surrounded by high temperature and low density medium, reducing the influence of various airflow in the electric furnace on the central oxygen jet, thus slowing down the attenuation of the velocity of the oxygen jet, maintaining the initial diameter and velocity of the oxygen jet in a long distance, and providing a long-distance supersonic polymerization jet to the molten bath [8].

Cluster oxygen lance structure
According to the working principle of the cluster jet oxygen lance, it is a part of epoxy in the main oxygen of the traditional oxygen lance. In addition, two rings of protective gas (epoxy and ring gas) are added to the outer ring of the main oxygen to make it fully burn and isolate the influence of the external air flow to protect the main oxygen.
Problems needing attention in bottom blowing argon of electric arc furnace
In the 1980 s, companies such as Thyssen Krupp Steel Company in Germany and Union Carbide Company in the United States tried to install bottom blowing devices at the bottom of the electric arc furnace, but their longevity and safety issues were not resolved. In the early 1990 s, the Central Iron and Steel Research Institute put forward the concept of "top-bottom combined blowing of electric arc furnace", that is, based on power supply, oxygen blowing above the molten pool and argon blowing at the bottom of the furnace are used to achieve energy saving and consumption reduction in electric arc furnace steelmaking. The research was once established as the "Seventh Five-Year Plan" project of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry, and industrial tests were carried out in the electric arc furnace of Great Wall Special Steel Company, but the project failed to achieve engineering due to various technical reasons. At the same time, the non-contact bottom blowing developed by Thyssen Krupp in Germany in 1992 was successfully applied in a steel company in South Africa, and the economic effect was also very significant, but the technology was not promoted. In addition, research on bottom argon blowing in the 165-ton electric furnace of the Dofasco double furnace shell in North America has also been carried out, as shown in the figure below.
How to use the cluster carbon oxygen gun reasonably to improve the benefit of electric furnace steelmaking
In China, more than 70% of electric arc furnaces use furnace door carbon and oxygen guns. It can be seen that furnace door carbon and oxygen guns are important to electric arc furnace smelting. The reason is that the price of natural gas is high, the consumption is large, and the effect after use is not obvious. Therefore, the furnace door carbon and oxygen guns play a major role. In order to increase the stirring effect of furnace door carbon and oxygen guns, many enterprises have continuously increased the flow rate of furnace door carbon and oxygen guns, what's more, the flow rate of the carbon and oxygen gun in the furnace door reaches 5000 Nm3/h, while the flow rate and pressure are constantly increasing, and the outlet pressure is as high as 16kg.
